ORANGEVALE, CA (MPG) - What a way to kick off the holiday season with a record turnout of community coming together to celebrate the 18th Annual Orangevale Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony hosted by OV Parks.

The magical evening was filled with laughter and joy as families gathered to enjoy choir and band performances from our local schools spreading holiday cheer. Delicious cookies made lovingly by the Orangevale Women’s Club were a hit, along with hot chocolate provided by the Orangevale Chamber of Commerce, free popcorn provided by Les Schwab and over 700 hot dogs donated by the good people at the Orangevale Grange. It was a true testament to the unity and camaraderie of the Orangevale community.

The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the arrival of the guest of honor himself, Santa Claus, along with his trusty sidekick, Buddy the Elf. The excitement was evident as children and adults eagerly awaited their turn to visit with Santa and then to watch the grand finale of lighting the giant community Christmas tree! Santa’s presence brought an extra touch of magic to the event, reminding everyone of the true spirit of the holiday season.

One particularly memorable moment of the evening was when Santa, with the assistance of Easystumps, was hoisted in the air to illuminate the towering Christmas tree. The crowd participated in the countdown as Santa waved his magical lighted candy cane wand, and with a burst of twinkling lights, the tree came to life, casting a festive glow over the gathering. It was a truly magical sight showing the unity and hope that the holiday season represents.

Special thanks to all who came out to celebrate, and to the generous community sponsors for their donations to make the evening possible including: Orange Vale Water Company, Blossom Vale Senior Living, EasyStumps, Orangevale Woman’s Club, Orangevale Grange, Orangevale Chamber of Commerce, The Swenson Law Firm, The Orangevale History Project, Mighty Bounce & Party Rentals, Orangevale Live, Les Schwab, RESCO, OV-FO Food Bank and Casa Roble Interact Club.

With cherished memories created and the Christmas tree shining bright, Orangevale can look forward to many more years of coming together to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year. Wishing everyone a very happy holiday season!
